Mandsaur, July 16 (HS). The protest going on for the demand of connectivity of Shamgarh city on the Ujjain Garoth four lane road under construction in Shamgarh of the district ended on Tuesday after two days. The officials of MKC company which is constructing the road gave an assurance in writing that the company will not do any construction in the area from where the connectivity is being demanded for the next 30 days. After this, the local people who were protesting ended the protest.
It is worth mentioning that the National Highway Authority is constructing the Ujjain Garoth four-lane road. Shamgarh town has not been connected to this road. The residents of the town say that the town has a population of more than 40 thousand. All trains have a stoppage. Shamgarh is a center for about 80 villages in the vicinity. Despite this, Shamgarh was not given connectivity on the Delhi Mumbai Expressway. Now Shamgarh is not being given connectivity on the four-lane highway either. Angered by this, the residents of the town started an indefinite sit-in protest on the under-construction four-lane highway from Sunday. On Monday, the town was closed and protest was registered. Today, the officials of the construction company have assured not to carry out construction work in the connectivity area for 30 days.
