The problem of farmers regarding poppy cultivation was discussed repeatedly in the Assembly

Chandigarh: Poppy cultivation was discussed during the zero call in the Assembly on Monday and farming issues were discussed again and again. Opposition leader Pratap Singh Bajwa assured Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan that he would not do anything during the discussion.

During the zero call, ruling party MLA Kulwant Singh Bazigar sought approval of the question asked by the ruling party MLA yesterday. In response to this, the speaker said that China was not coming under the control of the British government, hence opium was allowed in Bengal and Bengal became a slave. He said that everything has advantages and disadvantages.

Congress MLA Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa raised the issue of taking 4 percent amount from farmers and the problems people are facing due to NOC related to land and property.

Apart from building a trauma center in Khanna, Tarunjit Singh Saund demanded providing MRI machine and related staff. Sukhwinder Kotli raised the issue of building a degree college in the name of Kanshi Ram in Adampur and renaming Adampur Airport as Guru Ravidas Airport. Akali MLA Sukhwinder Sukhi raised the issue of promoting principals belonging to Scheduled Caste and posting them on administrative posts. Harmeet Singh Pathan Majra talked about providing relief to defaulter sheller owners.

There will be special discussion on the issue of agriculture

Farmers' issues were discussed repeatedly in the House. Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan also talked about the harassment of farmers by the Central Government many times. Gidderbaha MLA Amrendra Singh Raja Waring said that there should be a one-day discussion on the demands and problems of the farmers. Opposition leader Pratap Singh Bajwa encouraged this and assured the Speaker that he would not do anything wrong. All political parties of the state should stand with the farmers. He said that the central government is helping the corporates.

Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Dr. Nachhatar Pal demanded to give Bharat Ratna to Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram, Comrade Harkrishna Singh Surjit and Giani Zail Singh. He said that Kanshi Ram spent his entire life for the progress of the Dalit class and awakened the spirit of self-respect among the deprived. He said that Comrade Harkrishna Singh Surjeet spent his entire life for the economic independence of the poor, he was a member of the Politburo of his national party for 40 years. He said that Giani Zail Singh was the first Sikh President of the country who talked about the interests of the backward classes. Similarly, a recommendation should be made to the Government of India to give Bharat Ratna Award to these three personalities of Punjab.
