Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council (UP Board) has started preparations to make the high school and intermediate education system completely modern and practical. Now Uttar Pradesh’s own new ‘State Curriculum Framework’ (SCF) is being prepared on the lines of National Education Policy 2020 (NEP) and National Curriculum Framework (NCF). In this connection, a special five-day workshop has started at the headquarters of UP Board. In this important meeting, top officials of the education department, subject experts, well-known educationists and experienced teachers are together preparing the complete outline of the new syllabus of the state.
History and culture of UP will get special place in the syllabus
While formally inaugurating the workshop, UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh said that this new framework will work to change the direction and condition of secondary education in the state. While preparing the new curriculum, the glorious history, rich cultural heritage, social diversity and local needs of Uttar Pradesh will be specially included. Along with this, rote learning will be abolished and the focus will be on ‘Competency-Based Education’ and new evaluation system, so that students from both rural and urban areas can get equal opportunities.
New books will come, experts will also connect through digital medium
While sharing the outline of the workshop, Additional Secretary of the Board, Skand Shukla said that the final draft of the state curriculum framework will be prepared on the basis of whatever important suggestions will emerge from this five-day brainstorming. According to this draft, new timely textbooks and courses for all subjects will be prepared in future. In this workshop, some big experts are also giving their opinion through online medium. On the first day, a detailed discussion was started by dividing all the participants into different subject-wise groups so that an inclusive and future-ready education policy could be implemented.
