Indian shooters continued their impressive performance at the 2nd World Deaf Shooting Championship in Hanover, Germany, securing the top two positions in the 10m air rifle mixed team event. In this event, the pair of Mehat Sandhu and Dhanush Srikanth won the gold medal, while the pair of Natasha Joshi and Mohammad Murtaza Vania won the silver medal.

World Deaf Shooting Championship

Pranjali Dhumal and Abhinav Deswal won the silver medal in the 10m air pistol event. With this, India has increased its medal tally to 12 (three gold, six silver and three bronze) on the third day of the competition. India won four and five medals respectively on the first and second day of the tournament. The pair of Dhanush and Mehat set a world record in diff shooting with a score of 628.8 in the qualification, while Natasha and Murtaza Vania qualified for the gold medal with a score of 622.1 in the final. In the final match, Dhanush and Mehat registered an easy win of 17-5.

Let us tell you that the pair of Pranjali and Abhinav lost 7-17 to the pair of Oleksiy Lazebnik and Inna Afonchenko of Ukraine in the final of the 10 meter air pistol competition. The pair lagged behind in qualifying with a score of 565, which is a new world record for qualifying in the Deaf World Cup.
