Mirzapur 14 August (HS). On the eve of Independence Day, 'Partition Horrors Memorial Day' was organized at Rajasthan Outer College on Wednesday. The chief guest of the program was District Panchayat Chairman Raju Kanaujia and the special guests were Municipal Chairman Shyam Sundar Keshari and BJP District President Brij Bhushan Singh.

The chief guest said that the pain of Partition cannot be forgotten. Partition is a painful story of unprecedented human displacement and forced migration. It is a story in which millions of people were looking for a new home in a completely distributed environment among strangers. Apart from being a story of a violent partition on the basis of faith and religion, it is also a story of how a way of life and an era of co-existence of many years came to an abrupt and dramatic end. District School Inspector Rajkumar Dixit paid his respects to the Indians who sacrificed their lives and suffered the pain of displacement.

Block Education Officer Ravindranath Shukla also threw light on the division in detail. Additional Superintendent of Police, Deputy Commissioner MNREGA, District Basic Education Officer also addressed the program. It was conducted by Prasun Pujari.

Students and NCC cadets took out Tiranga Yatra

On the occasion of 'Partition Horrors Memorial Day', students of Basant Vidyalaya Inter College and NCC cadets took out a Tiranga Yatra. The principal flagged off the Yatra. The rally started from Basant Inter College and ended in the premises of Rajasthan Inter College.
