Lucknow, July 19 (HS). On the order of Meerut Police to make the street vendors install nameplates for the convenience of Kanwar pilgrims in Uttar Pradesh, Azad Samaj Party's national president and MP Chandrashekhar said that the government should intervene in this matter and get the decision withdrawn. Such decisions lead to communal tension.

While talking to journalists at the Press Club of Lucknow, MP Chandrashekhar said that if the Chief Minister of the state wants, which decision cannot be changed. Officials in the state issue new orders on their own. This causes problems to the people. How will the person who sets up a shop on the road put up a nameplate? Such decisions target a particular class. This is a wrong tradition.

On the Hyder Canal road dispute, Chandrashekhar said that today he met the people of Hyder Canal. What good will it do if development work is carried out by destroying the settlement there. It is better to find some other way rather than destroying people's homes and doing something new. So that the people of Hyder Canal can get relief.

He said that Dalit oppression has increased in the state. Be it in any form. Somewhere a Dalit girl is being raped, somewhere a Dalit's land is being snatched, and in a city like Lucknow, a Dalit colony is being demolished in the name of development. It would be appropriate if the Chief Minister directly takes cognizance of the cases and does justice.
