Ahmedabad: People’s interest in the stock market is increasing rapidly in the country. Due to the increasing interest of people in the stock markets, the number of registered investors in the market has reached close to 11 crores. This number was around 10 crore in August 2024 and 9 crore in February this year.
According to the data, at the end of November, the total number of investors (unique PAN numbers) registered in the National Stock Exchange, the country’s largest exchange, was 10.7 crore.
Maharashtra alone has 16.5 percent (1.77 crore) registered investors. However, its share has decreased in March 2015. If indicated large scale distribution of investors across the state. According to the data, gender inclusivity continues to improve with the share of women investors increasing from 22.7 per cent to 24 per cent at the end of March 2022. The total share of women investors in Goa, Chandigarh and Mizoram is more than 30 percent.
