East Champaran, April 19 (HS). The game of sale of government land is going on unabated in the district due to the nexus of the zonal office and land mafia. The land of Bettiah Raj is also being captured and permanent construction is being done by some zonal offices by getting illegitimate reward. The latest case of sale of government land has come to light, which has been caught by Yogesh Tripathi, District Under Registration Officer in-charge of East Champaran.
It is being told that in the District Sub Registrar Office, in connivance with the land mafia and the zonal office, the land was reached for sale by fraudulently registering the government land and cutting the receipt, but after seeing the documents, when the registrar got suspicious, he asked the seller for the complete documents. Asked for, after which the whole game of nexus between the zonal office and the land mafia came to light. The said land was non-profitable, whose jamabandi was organized fraudulently and was cut off till the rent receipt.
After this revelation, the registrar has put a stop to the land registry and demanded clarification from the zonal office. The matter is related to Turkaulia zone of the district, where documents were presented in the registration office for the sale of land of Khesra number 6507 of Jaisinghpur Mauza. After being suspected, the whole story has come to light. After this big fraud done by the nexus of the zonal office and the land mafia has come to light, there is a stir in the entire district. It is also being discussed that due to this nexus, many Officials and land mafia have been collecting goods for the last several years.
Many people said that hundreds of acres of non-majorua land has been sold in the last four-five years in Turkaulia, Banjariya and Motihari Sadar areas of the district. Some people also said that in these areas, illegal occupation and construction of Bettiah Raj land has been done. By giving approval for the construction, the officials have collected the money with both hands. However, after this revelation, it is expected that the entire matter will be thoroughly investigated. Hence, many officials involved in this fraud will be on the radar of investigation.
