The MP murder case has been in the news for the last four days, which has created a stir in India and Bangladesh. A woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of an Awami League MP in Bangladesh. Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested a woman named Silisti Rahman. According to sources, Silisti Rahman is the girlfriend of Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen, the mastermind of the murder of Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim. Investigating officials suspect that she was used as a 'honeytrap' and may have played an important role in the murder of the Bangladeshi MP.
Such reasons were responsible for the murder of the MP
Intensive police investigation revealed that master killer Amanullah and his associates forced the MP to pay Shaheen's dues after going to that luxury flat in Newtown. During this, Amanullah slapped the MP and a fight started. Later, the MP was killed by closing his mouth with a pillow. After this, the main conspirator Shaheen was told that the mission has been accomplished. Shaheen ordered to hide the body. On receiving instructions, Amanullah cut his body into pieces. White polythene, bleaching powder and two large size trolley bags were ordered from outside. After cutting the body into pieces, it is loaded into two different trolleys. After placing the body parts in the bags, the floor of the flat was cleaned with bleaching powder brought from outside.
This trolley was given to Siam, a member of the murder group. Siam got into the car and got down some distance away. After this Amanullah could not tell where he took the bag. Leaving another bag in the flat, Amanullah and Shaheen's girlfriend Silisti returned to Dhaka by plane on May 15. Mustafiz, Faisal and others took out another trolley bag from there.
Both were running a gold smuggling racket.
Slain MP Anwarul Azim Anar and prime suspect Akhtaruzzaman ran a gold smuggling racket but had differences over money and Azim kept more than Rs 100 crore. Akhtaruzzaman, known as Shaheen Mian in his native Jhenaidah, smuggled gold from Dubai to Bangladesh while Azim, a ruling Awami League MP from Jhenaidah-4, ensured the consignment reached the right people in India. Last year, Azim told Akhtaruzzaman that he wanted a bigger stake, following which Akhtaruzzaman turned down Azim's offer, leading to a rift between the two. The two became hostile when Azim took Rs 100 crore and kept it for himself.
Akhtaruzzaman then started demanding money from Azim. The two had met several times in the last six months to resolve the matter and Azim had consistently refused to pay Akhtaruzzaman. Akhtaruzzaman then decided to kill him. Azim went to Kolkata on May 12 and stayed at a friend's house overnight. The next day he left saying he was going to a doctor. He did not return and the friend found some messages on his mobile phone saying he need not call.
The plan to murder the MP was made three months ago
Additional Commissioners (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Harun and Rashid said, “The murder was planned two-three months ago. Several meetings were held at Akhtaruzzaman's flat in Gulshan and Bashundhara. The suspects could not carry out the murder here due to the vigilance of the DMP. He knew that the MP often visits Kolkata, so he made a new plan and rented a flat there on April 25. On April 30, Akhtaruzzaman, his girlfriend and the killer Amanullah reached Kolkata and started living in a flat in the Newtown area.
On May 13, when Azim left his friend's house, one of the suspects picked him up in a white car and took him to the flat. The MP entered the flat at noon and the suspects finalised their plan within half an hour. They kept Azmi's phone on and sent messages to people in different locations to fool the police system.
A contract killer named Jihad was arrested
On May 15, Amanullah and his girlfriend Akhtaruzza returned to Bangladesh, while the two suspects returned to Bangladesh on May 16 and 17. Initial investigations by the CID have revealed that this mysterious woman knows where the pieces of the MP's body were thrown after the murder. In the investigation of the murder of a Bangladeshi MP in Newtown flats in Kolkata, the police have already arrested a contract killer named Jihad Howledar. This man is living illegally in Mumbai from Bangladesh. According to police sources, the main accused Akhtaruzzaa brought these people from Mumbai to Kolkata two months ago. This has been confessed during interrogation of the arrested jihadis.
Before coming to Kolkata from Bangladesh, he had bought several SIM cards with fake documents. Investigation by the investigating officers revealed that Rs 2.5 crore was paid for the murder of the MP. The accused Jihad was misleading the investigation team. Enquiries were made throughout the day on Thursday about where the body was thrown, but no information has been received about the body so far.
