Lucknow, 15 February (HS). The Public Works Department is fully engaged in making the movement of visitors easy and safe to attend the three-day ground breaking ceremony to be held in the capital Lucknow from February 19. All the major roads leading to the venue are being strengthened and beautified. The bridges and dividers are being painted, which will increase the beautification of the city and the visitors will feel pleasant in Lucknow.
Manish Verma, Executive Engineer, Provincial Division, Public Works Department, Lucknow, said that three temporary helipads are being constructed in Lamart School. From Lamart School to the venue Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, work related to painting, footpath repair, painting of dividers and cleaning of the road is going on at Kalidas Square, 1090 Square, Samtamulak Square and Lohiyapath Square L-Shape Over Bridge. Work is also in progress. As per requirement, surface repair work has been done on Lohiyapath going from Samata Mool Chauraha to Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.
Similarly, after the L-shaped over bridge located on Lohiyapath, till Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, divider repair, footpath repair and the drain passing through the road are being repaired as per requirement and wherever cover is unavailable to cover the drain, it is being precast. The process of getting it covered is underway and currently the work of divider painting is being done.
Necessary repair related works are also being carried out on the related roads leading to the heritage zone located in Lucknow city. Keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the visitors going to Indira Gandhi Pratishthan via Awadh Square via Lucknow-Agra Expressway, repair work has been started on the VIP route.
Apart from this, surface repair work has also been started as per requirement on the road leading to Indira Gandhi Pratishthan after the L-shaped overhead bridge at Lohiyapath and the road leading to Indira Gandhi Pratishthan via Shaheedpath Road.
