Purnia, May 29 (HS). To increase the power supply in Purnia district and to install additional transformers for uninterrupted power supply in urban and rural areas of the assembly, Sadar MLA Vijay Khemka has written a letter to Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav, Chairman cum Managing Director of the department and Executive Engineer of Purnia division and asked them to solve the problems of electricity consumers immediately.
The MLA said that in this scorching heat, the common people are suffering due to the irregular power supply. In this scorching heat, due to the maximum increase in power usage capacity, the pressure on the wires and transformers has increased a lot, due to which the wires break. Due to this, the power supply stops.
The MLA said that due to Purnia division grid not receiving the required megawatts of electricity, the power supply remains disrupted for a long time. The MLA has asked the Honorable Energy Minister and the department officials to immediately supply at least 120 megawatts of electricity regularly to Purnia and to install additional 200 kilowatt transformers at about two dozen places in the urban and rural areas of Purnia and to replace only the wires of the electricity poles.
The MLA said that I am making every effort to ensure that the electricity consumers of Purnia do not face any difficulty. The department has installed new transformers in various wards of Purnia city and the old transformers have been replaced with transformers of higher capacity and the work of replacing poles and wires is also underway at many places. Khemka has asked the Executive Engineer of Purnia division to immediately resolve the difficulties being faced by the electricity consumers.
