Srinagar, 20 November (HS). Srinagar and some other places in the valley witnessed the coldest night of the season on Wednesday as the minimum temperature dropped below the freezing point at most places in Kashmir.
Officials said many other places in the valley also witnessed the coldest night of the season as the minimum temperature was recorded below zero at most places in the valley. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in Qazigund was recorded at minus 1.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Pahalgam tourist spot was recorded at minus 3.7 degrees Celsius. The coldest place was recorded in Pahalgam valley.
Gulmarg ski resort recorded a minimum temperature of minus 0.6 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town recorded minus 0.8 degrees Celsius.
Kokernag was the only weather station where the minimum temperature remained 1.2 degrees Celsius above the freezing point.
The Meteorological Department has said that the weather will remain normal till November 23. There is a possibility of cloudy sky on November 24 and there is a possibility of light rain and light snowfall at some places in Kashmir, especially in the higher reaches.
