Indore, July 9 (HS). Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, during his stay in Indore on Tuesday, participated in the mega campaign of planting 51 lakh saplings under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. He also planted trees in Atal Van near Bijasan in Indore. Addressing the program organized on this occasion, he said that when the whole world is facing the ill effects of climate change and global warming, at such a time this campaign will give a new perspective to the country and the world towards environmental friendliness and will show a new path.

Lok Sabha Speaker Birla said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started a campaign named Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. This campaign is being taken forward rapidly in Madhya Pradesh, especially in Indore. He said that the campaign will prove to be helpful for environmental friendliness. Tree plantation is linked to our culture, values ​​and spirituality. This campaign will be a campaign to make the present as well as the future happy. It will also become a medium to solve the environmental challenges of the country and the world.

On this occasion, former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Forest and Environment Minister Nagar Singh Chauhan, Animal Husbandry Minister Lakhan Patel, MP Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council member Mahendra Singh, Scheduled Caste Finance Development Corporation Chairman Sawan Sonkar, MLAs Mahendra Hardia, Ramesh Mendola, Madhu Verma, Gaurav Randive and Chintu Verma along with other public representatives were present. In the program, all the above guests planted trees in Atal Van located in front of Bijasan along with thousands of school children. On this occasion, Om Birla also honored the tree plantation brand ambassadors Vishnu Lamba and Kumari Prashanthi.

In the program, former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said that this campaign is a big campaign to save human life. This campaign should be continuously carried forward. Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that trees are the adornment of the earth. It is the biggest basis of our life. Life depends on trees. Trees give us everything to save life. It is our duty to plant as many trees as possible and protect them.

Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava gave a welcome speech and informed about the progress of the tree plantation campaign being run in Indore. He said that this campaign has become a mass movement with the active participation of every section of the society. While the state government has set a target of planting 5.5 crore trees, 51 lakh saplings are being planted in Indore city itself. Mahendra Singh and other guests also addressed the program.

Lok Sabha Speaker Birla performed worship at Pitru Parvat and planted a tree
Before this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla first reached Pitru Parvat in Indore. Here he visited the statue of Hanuman ji. He performed pooja-archana and planted a tree. On reaching Indore, Lok Sabha Speaker Birla was welcomed by Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, MP Shankar Lalwani and Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava. Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh, Police Commissioner Rakesh Gupta, Collector Ashish Singh and other administrative officials also paid courtesy visit to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at Residency Kothi Indore. Lok Sabha Speaker Birla was given a guard of honour.
