Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Mahayuti Seat Sharing: The matter of seat sharing in Mahayuti for Lok Sabha elections has directly reached Delhi. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reached Delhi on Friday evening to resolve the seat sharing rift with Ajit Pawar. These three prominent leaders of the state discussed with Union Home Minister Amit Shah till late Friday night. If a satisfactory agreement is reached with the Shinde group and Ajit Pawar group in this discussion, then candidates for some seats in the state can be announced in the second list of BJP. But there is discussion in political circles that these three parties have different fears.
The meeting started at 10.30 pm
A few days ago, Amit Shah, who was on Maharashtra tour, had a joint discussion with Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. However, it became clear that this time there is resentment between the Shinde faction and the Ajit Pawar faction over the seat sharing proposal. That is why all three prominent leaders of the state reached Delhi directly on Friday night to find a solution. Along with Ajit Pawar, his group's state president Sunil Tatkare and MP Praful Patel also reached Delhi at around 7 pm. Shinde and Fadnavis also reached Delhi after 8 pm. But the meeting with Shah started after 10.30 pm. Apart from Amit Shah, Fadnavis, Shinde, Ajit Pawar, Chandrashekhar Bawankule from BJP and Sunil Tatkare from NCP's Ajit Pawar faction were present in the meeting. Since BJP wants to announce candidates from important states like Maharashtra while releasing the second list, the central leadership is trying to build a consensus on seat sharing as soon as possible. The meeting which started on Friday night continued even after midnight. The meeting between these leaders lasted for about two and a half hours.
Shinde-Pawar group has a different fear
Meanwhile, if sitting MPs and aspiring leaders of the Eknath Shinde group are denied candidature, there are fears that they will go back to the Uddhav Thackeray group. On the other hand, there is a similar situation in Ajit Pawar's group also. There is a possibility that aspiring and sitting MPs may go back to Sharad Pawar group if they are not given tickets. Both groups fear the same thing. On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party had denied Shinde the seats contested by Shiv Sena in the last election and if Shinde accepts it, it is likely to send a wrong message among the party workers. That is why all the three parties are busy selecting candidates and constituencies keeping all these aspects in mind. Today i.e. on March 9, it is being said that there will be a meeting between prominent leaders of the state to discuss seat sharing.
