For the last several years, there was a problem of waterlogging in Varsaliganj Road located in the southern area of the city, due to which the local people as well as the local public representatives were troubled every day. The mayor of Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation was also worried about this. After this, a few days ago, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of road and drain at a cost of 2 crores. After this, the construction work also started. To inspect this construction work, the mayor of Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation Vasundhara Lal herself reached the spot with her team on Sunday.
Vasundhara Lal said that this was our dream project. We were worried about this work for the last several days. The Mayor also said that the construction work is going on smoothly. Some flaws were also seen, which the officers have been ordered to correct. We will personally inspect this work in future as well.
It is worth mentioning that last year during the rainy season when waterlogging occurred on this road, a water satyagraha was also organized by the councillors of the municipal corporation and the local people. Ward councillor Pankaj Gupta, councillor Kalpana Devi, councillor Dheeraj, councillor representative Shashi Modi, Deepak Sah along with the engineers and employees of the municipal corporation were present in today's inspection.
