During a press conference in America, a Pakistani journalist raised the issue of nameplates. On which the US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said that the Indian Supreme Court has banned the nameplates on the restaurants coming on the Kavad Yatra. So that no questions can be raised on this decision now.

Along with this, he said that the US has talked with its Indian counterparts emphasizing the importance of equal treatment for all religions. We are committed to respecting and protecting the right to freedom of religion and belief of all people everywhere in the world.

What was the nameplate controversy
The Uttar Pradesh government had ordered all shop owners on the Kavad Yatra route to write their names in front of their shops. So that the Kavadis know what the name of the shopkeeper is. However, the Muzaffarnagar police first instructed all the eateries on the Kavad Yatra route to disclose the names of their owners. After this, the Uttar Pradesh government spread it across the state.
