The matter of arbitrary transfer reached the Commission, CEO wrote a letter


Ranchi, 24 February (HS). The matter of arbitrary transfer in Jharkhand regarding Lok Sabha elections has reached the Commission. After coming to the notice of the Commission, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K. Ravi Kumar has written a letter to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of Jharkhand on Saturday.

According to the letter written by the Commission, guidelines were given by the Commission for transfer and posting of officials in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha general elections. It has come to the notice of the Commission that the officials have been transferred to the border district under the same parliamentary constituency, which is against the basic spirit of the transfer policy. It has been instructed through the relevant letter that the officers who have been transferred in the past but have not been transferred as per the instructions of the Commission. Their transfer should be done as per above.

It is noteworthy that the compliance report related to transfer and posting of officials is to be sent to the Commission by 3 pm on 26th February from the level of Chief Secretary and DGP.
