Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested the absconding prime accused in the case of seizure of mephedrone worth Rs 60 crore and cash worth Rs 69 lakh in a raid at a Vashi hotel in Navi Mumbai. Earlier, three accused, including a woman, were arrested in the inter-state drug racket, an official said on Wednesday.

The Narcotics Control Bureau came to know about the involvement of Sufiyan Khan during the interrogation of the accused arrested in the crime and the quantity of mephedrone seized earlier. He was constantly changing his location and mobile phone number. Eventually, based on specific inputs, the NCB came to know that the fugitive Sufiyan was staying in a hotel in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. Based on this, the NCB team raided the hotel in Vashi and arrested Sufiyan.

Sufiyan had a drug network in Mumbai's Shivadi area and had a criminal history. Further investigation into the case is underway, the official said.

Last month, the NCB busted a drug syndicate in Nagpada area of ​​Mumbai. After receiving information that the accused Musharraf was going to sell mephedrone in Nagpada, his activities were monitored.

Musharraf was arrested in Nagpada and 10 kg of mephedrone was seized. During interrogation, the accused disclosed the mephedrone kept nearby. During a search operation in the house of a woman named Naushit, 10.5 kg of mephedrone was found. Cash worth Rs 69.13 lakh obtained from the sale of drugs was also seized.

After it was found that the drug carrier was to deliver the consignment safely, NCP officials arrested Saif from the Wadala area.

11 kg of mephedrone was seized from him. The gang had to supply mephedrone in various parts of Mumbai. Drug smuggling syndicates have been active for a long time.
