'The Judiciary protected the Constitution even in crisis', PM Modi's statement on completion of 75 years of Supreme Court | News India

PM Modi said on the completion of 75 years of Supreme Court: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today unveiled stamps and coins on the occasion of completion of 75 years of the Supreme Court of India and said that celebrating 75 years of the Supreme Court is not the journey of any one institution but the journey of the Constitution of India and its constitutional values. The faith of the people of India has never been lost on the Supreme Court, our judiciary, hence these 75 years of the Supreme Court have further increased the pride of India, the mother of democracy. As the country is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Constitution, there is pride as well as inspiration on this occasion.

PM Modi described the judiciary as a strong pillar

PM Modi further said that the Supreme Court had maintained national unity on issues of fundamental rights and national interest during the dark days of the Emergency. In the twilight of independence, 140 countrymen have only one dream – developed India, new India. New India means modern India with ideas and determination. Our judiciary is a strong pillar of this vision.

Prime Minister praised the judiciary

Prime Minister Modi said that in our democracy, the judiciary is considered the protector of the Constitution. This is a big responsibility in itself. We can say with satisfaction that our Supreme Court, our judiciary has fulfilled this responsibility very well. After independence, the judiciary protected the spirit of justice. When the question of national security arose, the judiciary kept national interest paramount and protected the unity of India.
