The bugle for the great sports event i.e. Olympic Games was blown late last night. For the first time, the opening ceremony of the Olympics was not held in a stadium but in a river. Olympic athletes from all over the world participated in the grand opening ceremony. In the ceremony held on the Seine river, the athletes paraded on more than 100 boats. The Indian contingent entered the parade at number 84.

India has sent a total of 117 athletes to participate in the Paris Olympics. Which includes 29 players in athletics, 21 in shooting and 19 in hockey. The Indian team has 40 athletes who are playing their first Olympics. In the Olympic opening ceremony parade, the Indian contingent was represented by two-time Olympic medalist badminton star PV Sindhu and table tennis star Achanta Sharath Kamal, who hoisted the tricolor. Indian athletes wore special outfits at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. Male players were seen in kurta bandi sets while female players were seen in matching saris depicting the tricolor flag of India. All the players were welcomed with the performance of pop star Lady Gaga at the ceremony.
The Ambani family was also seen in this function. Amid light rain, Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani was seen sitting in the auditorium with his wife Neeti Ambani and daughter Isha Ambani, cheering for the Indian team.

The boat was carrying several athletes who represented the Indian contingent at the opening ceremony of the Olympics. These include PV Sindhu from badminton, Lovlina Borgohan from boxing, Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra from table tennis, Rohan Bopanna, Sumit Nagal and Sriram Balaji from tennis, Deepika Kumari and Tarundeep Rai from archery, Anush Aggarwal from equestrian, Shubhankar Sharma from golf, Krishna Pathak, Neelkant Sharma and Jugraj Singh from hockey, Tulika Mann, Vishnu Saravanan and Netra Kumanan from judo, Anjum Moudgil, Sift Kaur Samara, Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar and Anish from shooting and Srihari Nataraj and Dhinidhi Singhu were present.
