Regarding the increasing cyber fraud in Gujarat, a banking expert said that most of the victims of cyber fraud are senior citizens. Along with the Reserve Bank, banks are also trying to make people aware through SMS, e-mails and advertisements. Apart from this, the use of credit cards has increased among the youth and due to this online fraud has also increased. However, now people also register cases in banks and cyber crimes, due to which they get their money back.
According to the data presented in Parliament, cyber fraud related to banks has increased by more than 1,000 percent in 18 states and union territories in five years. While in 15 states the number of such cases has increased by 100-1000%. Nagaland has the lowest increase of 75%. According to this list, Mizoram is the only state where there has been no fraud related to bank fraud.
