The history of CRPF is golden and glorious: Radheshyam Singh

Khunti, April 9 (Hindustan Reporter) Bravery Day was organized on Tuesday at Tajna Sports Complex, Khunti of 94 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force. Radheshyam Singh Commandant 94 Battalion CRPF remembered the martyrs and paid tribute to them and also took the salute in Quarter India and through Sainik Sammelan Told the soldiers about the importance of Bravery Day.

He said that the Central Reserve Police Force is not only India's but also the world's largest paramilitary force. Its history is golden and glorious. The glorious day of April 9, 1965 is a day of pride not only for the CRPF but for all the men in uniform, because on this very day, a brave man of the Central Reserve Police Force performed a feat of which no other example can be found in world history. On April 9, 1965, four companies of the 2nd Corps of CRPF were deployed in security arrangements at Sardar and Tak Post in Rann of Kutch (Gujarat), located on the border of West Pakistan.

Then at around 3.30 in the morning, about 3500 soldiers of Pakistan's Infantry Brigade suddenly attacked under Operation Desert Hawk with the nefarious intention of secretly capturing the border Indian area. Then the soldiers of 2nd Corps CRPF deployed at those posts displayed courage and bravery and foiled the attack of Pakistan Infantry Brigade. In this, 34 soldiers of Pakistani army were killed and four were captured alive.

CRPF soldiers fought bravely and held back the Pakistani Infantry Brigade for 12 hours. Bravery Day is celebrated every year on 9th April to keep alive the memory of the heroic deeds of the heroes of the Central Reserve Police Force and to inspire the members of the force to emulate the same. On the occasion of Bravery Day, Mrityunjay Kumar, Second Commanding Officer, Anjan Kumar Mandal, Deputy Commandant and other officers and soldiers of this corps were present.
