People all over America, including Washington, are suffering from the heat. Now, due to the scorching sun, the wax statue of former President Abraham Lincoln installed outside a school in Washington has melted and some of its parts have broken off.
The heat in America has worsened the condition of people. A strange incident has come to light due to sunlight. The six-foot tall wax statue of former US President Abraham Lincoln in Washington started melting due to extreme heat. Within a short time, the head of the statue melted and separated. The head of this statue, made on the lines of Lincoln Memorial, melted and the legs got separated from the torso. By Monday, the other leg also melted.
The statue suffered extensive damage
“Our workers intentionally removed Lincoln’s head to prevent it from falling and breaking,” said MGO CulturalDC, which built the statue. The 3,000-pound wax statue is supposed to burn like a candle, but will be replaced over time but it is too hot to handle, so the statue has suffered a lot of damage.”
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of America
The organization said the wax used in the Lincoln statue has a freezing point — where a substance begins to melt — of 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The statue, titled “40 Acres: Camp Barker,” was scheduled to remain at the school until September. “This installation is based on D.C.'s history of Civil War-era refugee camps that housed formerly enslaved and free African Americans. Camp Barker was established at the location that is now Garrison Elementary,” CulturalDC said in its press release. Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. Lincoln is credited with ending slavery in the United States. He was president from 1861 to 1865.
