The number of deaths due to alcohol poisoning in Bihar has increased to 37. The maximum number of deaths occurred in Siwan district, where 28 people lost their lives. At the same time, deaths of 7 people have been confirmed in Chhapra district and 2 in Gopalganj.
140 places were raided with drone cameras
On the instructions of SP Awadhesh Dixit, liquor distilleries are being marked and demolished in Dyar area with the help of drone cameras. Along with destroying the semi-finished liquor, the police also destroyed liquor making equipment, gas stove, drums and gallons on the spot. Police have so far raided more than 140 places. Meanwhile, more than five thousand liters of country liquor was destroyed. Police have detained many people and started questioning them and the operation will continue.
Despite deaths, cases of poisonous liquor are not stopping
This is not the first case of death due to poisonous liquor. Even before this, 5 people have died in Baikunthpur and 16 in Khajurbani of Nagar police station area. Still people do not refrain from drinking poisonous liquor. After Siwan and Saran, a father and son have died due to poisonous liquor in Gopalganj, while many people have also lost their eyesight. Police are on full alert mode after the incident.

DGP Alok Raj said that the police have arrested 12 people and strict action will be taken against the liquor mafia. Strict action is being taken against those involved in manufacturing, storage and supply. A huge quantity of liquor has also been recovered.” SDPO Abhay Kumar Ranjan said, “After the incidents in the border districts, vigilance has been increased on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police. “A special campaign against liquor is being conducted and during this a large quantity of liquor has been seized.”
