New Delhi: In today's time, we do not need to worry about getting salary. Even if we do not have money in our pocket, we can easily do UPI through Unified Payment Interface (UPI). UPI has also made its mark outside the country i.e. abroad. Payments are also made through UPI in many countries of the world.
To make UPI payments easy and accessible to everyone, NPCI launched UPI Lite. Now a new update has come for UPI Lite. Actually, auto top-up feature has been added to UPI Lite. This means that UPI Lite auto top-up feature has arrived.
What is Auto Top-up facility?
If the funds in the UPI Lite Wallet run out at any time, the balance is automatically added through auto-top up. This means that the user will not need to add balance again and again. Understand it like this, if a UPI user has activated a top-up of Rs 500, then as soon as the balance in the UPI Lite Wallet runs out, Rs 500 will be automatically added.
When will this facility start?
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has issued a circular regarding the auto-top feature. According to this circular, UPI Lite users can use this feature from October 31, 2024. Through this feature, the amount selected in UPI Lite is automatically credited to the account.
How many add-ons can there be
The balance limit in UPI Lite is Rs 2,000. This means users can auto-top up to just Rs 2,000. UPI PIN is not required for payments up to Rs 500 in UPI Lite wallet. However, to pay an amount above this, the user will have to provide the UPI PIN.
