The government will bear the cost of education of the children of 121 families who were killed during the stampede on July 2 in Sikandra Rao, Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. This was said by Dr. Devendra Sharma, Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Child Protection Commission, who came to Hathras.
Dr. Devendra informed in a press conference that as soon as he came to Hathras, he also reached Sukhna village and met the victim families. He said that out of the families who lost their loved ones in the accident, 2 families also live in Sukhna.
2500 will be given per month
Dr. Devendra said that three members of the same family have died in Sukhna. The District Commercial Officer has ordered that the children of the families who have lost their loved ones in the stampede will be given Rs. 2500 per month under the Chief Minister's Child Protection Scheme. Along with this, the government will also be responsible for the education of the children of those families.
Boys will be accommodated in Atal Awas Yojana and girls in Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya. To ensure that there is no shortage in their education, girls between 0 to 18 years will be given Rs 25,000 in 6 installments under the government's Sumangal Yojana. Also, all the officials have been instructed to ensure that the children of the victim's family do not face any problem.
19 families in Hathras
Devendra Sharma of Child Protection Commission said that the government will bear the cost of education of 7 children of 19 families of Hathras district who died in the Sikandra Rao accident of Hathras. Under the Chief Minister's Child Scheme, 7 children will be given Rs 2500 per month. Under the Sumangal Scheme, families with daughters will be given Rs 25,000 in 6 months for their education. He said that if someone becomes disabled in an accident, he will also get equipment.
Helped 121 families
The widows of those killed in the accident will get widow pension. These women will be given access to jobs available in Anganwadi. He said that the benefits of all these schemes will be given to the children and women of the families of 121 people from nearby districts who died in the accident.
