Birsa Munda 150th birth anniversary: Commemorative coins will also be issued to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of Lord Birsa Munda, who pioneered the consciousness of the tribal people and led the tribal rebellion Ulgulan against the British and fought in the jungle-land war.
The Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India has issued a gazette notification in this regard. The government has spent Rs 20 crore on the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, the god of the tribals and popularly known as ‘Dhartiba’. Will issue a commemorative coin of Rs 150.
It is believed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can unveil the coin on November 15 in a program organized on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day in Ballopur village located in Khaira block of Jamui district of Bihar. This coin will never come into circulation. This coin of Rs 150 is of pure silver.
This coin is manufactured by the Mumbai Mint of the Government of India. The total weight of the coin is 40 grams and circumference is 44 millimeters. One side of the coin has the popular image of Birsa Munda, with the inscription 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda written in Hindi.
Home Minister will unveil the statue of Birsa Munda
On the other hand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will on Friday unveil the statue of tribal leader Birsa Munda installed at the entrance of Bansera Park in Sarai Kale Khan, New Delhi. DDA has installed a 20 feet high and 3000 kg statue of tribal leader Birsa Munda here on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary.
A flyover leading to the ashram from NH-9 has been constructed recently. A Municipal Corporation official said that Sarai Kale Khan flyover was beautified recently. It will be made better. Besides, beautification will also be done below the newly constructed flyover.
