The government gave financial approval to PWD for the repair of Ramganga bridge | News India

Moradabad, 03 September (HS). The government has given financial approval to PWD for the repair of Ramganga bridge. Money will be released soon for the repair of the bridge. Even after the bearings of two pillars of Ramganga bridge slipped, the movement of heavy vehicles is still going on, but engineers have called it dangerous from the security point of view. On Tuesday, PWD Executive Engineer Kuldeep Sant said that the repair work will start as soon as the money is received.

There is a 64-year-old bridge on the Ramganga river near Deer Park on Rampur Road in Thana Katghar area. Last month, after the order of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the PWD's superintending engineer inspected the bridge and found that the bearings of pillar number seven and eleven were shifted from their place. Due to this, the bridge was not shaking at all. Normally, the bridge should shake when vehicles move.

The Chief Engineer of PWD got the bridge inspected by Setu Nigam. When PD Shashikant of Setu Nigam inspected the bridge, he found other deficiencies besides the slipping of the bearing. On the basis of the PD's report, the PWD prepared an estimate of Rs 95 lakh for the repair of the bridge and sent it to the government.
