Hamirpur, 02 December (HS). A meeting of block level committees related to various schemes of the Women and Child Development Department was held on Monday under the chairmanship of SDM Shashipal Sharma. During the meeting, SDM informed that in the financial year 2024-25, a total amount of Rs 12.09 lakh has been distributed on the marriage of 39 poor girls under the Mukhyamantri Shagun Yojana in Bhoranj block. Additionally, Rs 9.69 lakh has been given for the marriage of 19 girls under the Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana. Rs 22.52 lakh has been distributed to 562 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and Rs 14.55 lakh has been distributed to 562 beneficiaries under the Beti Hai Anmol Yojana.
SDM said that nutritional food is being provided to 2848 children aged between 6 months to 6 years and 748 mothers. While reviewing the nutrition campaign, he directed to pay special attention to 19 cases of severe anemia.
Apart from this, 290 applications have been received for the education of children of widows or other single women under the Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana for children up to 18 years of age and youth of 18-27 years.
SDM informed about providing benefits to 16 youth up to 18 years of age and 22 youth in the age group of 18-27 years in Bhoranj under the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana. 20 proposals for higher education, coaching, marriage, vocational training and house construction of these youth have been sent to the Directorate, out of which 2 proposals have been approved.
Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, the SDM said that Rs 2.81 lakh will be spent in this financial year to motivate and empower girls. He also called for the report of 7 Anganwadi buildings to be constructed through MNREGA convergence.
