The general public should get the benefits of the schemes of the health mission: Minister Dhan Singh Rawat

Dehradun, 20 July (HS). Every person in the state should get the benefit of various health schemes of National Health Mission (NHM). For which special attention will be given to implementation and monitoring of the schemes as well as publicity. At the district level, the Chief Medical Officer will review the schemes from time to time.

Medical Health and Medical Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat held a review meeting of the National Health Mission in the NHM auditorium located at the Directorate General of Health on Saturday. In which he did a detailed review of various health schemes funded by the Central Government.

Dr Rawat said that various schemes are being run by the Central and State Government to make the benefits of the state's health services available to the general public. There is a need to pay special attention to their implementation, monitoring and promotion on the ground. For this, all the officers and personnel associated with the project will have to discharge their responsibilities with full devotion. He said that timely monitoring of various schemes is very important at the state level as well as at the district level. For which he has given instructions to the Chief Medical Officers of all the districts and the DPM of the project.

The departmental minister said that under NHM, about 28 health projects are being run in the state, which include free cataract treatment and distribution of spectacles, TB eradication, Janan Suraksha, National Child Protection, National Adolescent Health Program, NCD and deworming program, institutional delivery, tobacco eradication, free checkup and medicine distribution and ASHA program etc. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure that the benefits of these reach the people of the last village of the state. For this, the departmental officers will have to give 100% results as per the guidelines of various schemes and programs. He also said that under the Janani Suraksha Yojana, there is a need to prepare a roadmap for 100% institutional delivery in the state. Apart from this, the number of vehicles will be increased under the Khushiyon Ki Sawari program, for which the CMOs from each district will provide proposals.

During the review meeting, officials related to various health programmes and projects gave power point presentations regarding the scheme. During this, the departmental minister expressed dissatisfaction over the progress of many schemes and reprimanded the officials and directed them to speed up the work. During the presentation, the officials informed that the state ranks fourth at the national level in TB eradication and National Adolescent Health Programme, while the progress of Janani Suraksha Yojana and Institutional Delivery Programmes was described as satisfactory by all.

In the meeting, Vice President of National Rural Health and Monitoring Council Uttarakhand Suresh Bhatt, Vice Chancellor Uttarakhand Medical University Prof. M.L. Brahma Bhatt, MD NHM Swati Bhadoria, Advisor NHM Dr. Tripti Bahuguna, Additional Secretary Finance Amita Joshi, Director General Health Dr. Tara Arya, Director Dr. Sunita Tamta, Dr. Meetu Shah, Finance Controller NHM Deepali Bharne, CMO Dehradun Dr. Sanjay Jain, Dr. R.K. Singh, Dr. Tuhin Kumar, Dr. Pankaj Singh, Dr. Mahendra Maurya and other departmental officers were present, while Chief Medical Officers and DPMs of all districts participated in the meeting through virtual medium.
