Jalaun, 3 October (Hindustan Reporter). The fragrance of sandalwood will soon be felt on the land of Jalaun. For this, farmers have completed their training and started preparing for farming. Soon about one lakh sandalwood saplings will be planted in the district. Under the leadership of Lakshmi Narayan Chaturvedi, a progressive farmer from the district, the farmers had gone to Bangalore on September 21 to learn the preparation, maintenance and use of sandalwood seedlings. Where the farmers reached the Institute of Wood Science and Technology in Bangalore and obtained information about sandalwood cultivation.

During the training, farmers were given information about nursery, sandalwood tree maintenance, pest control, seed selection and oil determination time. Farmers were told the method of extracting oil. Farmer Lakshminarayan Chaturvedi said that his target is to plant about one lakh saplings. A plant is ready in 15 years. Farmers who returned from training, Shivshankar Chaturvedi Kukargaon, Rohitashv Purohit Jara, Himanshu Patel Shalabad, Nayanraj Tiwari Bhitara, Hemant Niswa were honored with training certificates.
