Araria 11 July (HS). In the presence of District President Umesh Rana and State President Praveen Kumar, the Population Solution Foundation handed over a memorandum to the DM in the name of the Prime Minister, demanding the implementation of a strict and effective population control law to prevent the socio-economic and environmental crisis caused by the rampant population growth in the country.
This was given jointly by Foundation's State General Secretary Subodh Mohan Thakur, State Publicity Incharge Pritam Yadav Bulbul, State Treasurer Virendra Mehta, State Co-convenor Vibhas Jha and State Working Committee Member Satyawan Malakar. In the 11-point demand letter submitted, it has been said that by making a population control law soon, rising above caste and religion, the law should be implemented equally on all citizens in the interest of the country, along with all the punitive provisions, the person who gives birth to a third child within one year of the notified date of the law should be deprived of the benefits of all government grants, subsidies etc. and also of voting rights including government service, and in case of violation of the law once and then for the second time, the punishment of ten years imprisonment should be given, and in case of having two living children, in case of divorce, any man or woman should be deprived of the right to have children after second marriage, in view of the proportionately decreasing population of the indigenous people, especially the tribal society, in the northeastern states affected by illegal infiltration, the citizens of those states should be kept out of the ambit of the law for some time, and if necessary, suitable amendments should be made in the Constitution for implementing the law.
State President of the Foundation, Praveen Kumar said that implementing a comprehensive and strict population control law in a country which has a burden of 17.8 percent i.e. more than 142 crore people on only 2.4 percent of the world's land area is not only the demand of the new India.
Rather, it is very important for the creation of a self-reliant India i.e. Vishwa Guru Bharat. He has demanded the Prime Minister to take immediate steps to solve the problem of population imbalance caused by the explosive form of population. On this occasion, many members of the Foundation including District Coordinator Sandeep Kumar Advocate Kishore Das, Neeraj Verma Kundan Yadav were present.
