The foundation day of the states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Goa was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Raj Bhavan

Raipur, July 12 (HS). The foundation day of the states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Goa was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Raj Bhavan on Friday. On this occasion, Governor Vishwa Bhushan Harichandan said that our resolution should be that everyone should work together to build an ideal and strong India with its diversities.

This function was organized at Raj Bhawan under the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” program of the Central Government. People from Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Goa residing in Chhattisgarh participated in it. On this occasion, the Governor said that the diversity of our country can be seen in the food, clothing, traditions, customs and rituals here. The diversity of languages ​​spoken in different regions of India is a proof of the rich cultural heritage of the country. Governor Harichandan underlined the characteristics of these different states.

On this occasion, former MP Sunil Soni, representative of Rajasthani community, Vivek Acharya, Director of Archeology and Culture Department, representative of Himachal Pradesh, Ritesh Tarun Chatterjee, representative of Bengali community and Ajay Madhukar Kale, representative of Maharashtrian community, gave information about the achievements and specialties of their respective states. They said that now Chhattisgarh is their home.

In the programme, students from various universities presented folk dances decorated with various colours of these states including Koli, Baul, Dhunuchi folk dance. The Governor honoured the representatives of all the states by making them wear the state gamchha and presenting them mementos. Shri Harichandan was also honoured by the representatives of these states by presenting him a memento. The Deputy Secretary to the Governor, Mrs. Hina Animesh Netam expressed gratitude in the programme. Secretary to the Governor Yashwant Kumar, representatives from various states, youth and women were present in large numbers in the programme.
