Indian Railways has brought a big gift for the passengers traveling between Bihar and Delhi. The comfortable and luxury sleeper version of Vande Bharat Express, which till now ran only with seating facility, will soon be seen running on the tracks between Patna and Delhi. According to Railways, one of the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper trains is going to be started on this route.
Expected to start by the end of December
Two sets (racks) of this train are being prepared in the BEML factory in Bengaluru, work on one of which has been completed. The first Vande Bharat sleeper train will be flagged off from Bengaluru on 12th December. After this, it will have a trial run on the Delhi-Patna route and if everything goes well, it will be launched for passengers by the end of December.
What will be the timing and when will it run?
This new train will run six days a week, like other Vande Bharat trains. For the convenience of passengers, its timetable has been kept around that of Tejas Rajdhani Express.
- From Patna: The train will leave around Tejas Rajdhani time in the evening and reach Delhi the next morning.
- Return from Delhi: Its return time will also be close to Tejas Rajdhani.

Vande Bharat sleeper train will be no less than a modern hotel. There will be a total of 16 coaches and 827 berths will be available.
- 11 Coach: Third AC (3AC)
- 4 Coach: Second AC (2AC)
- 1 Coach: First AC (1AC)

This train has been designed to run at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour. For safety, it will be fitted with Railways’ most advanced technology ‘Kavach’ system, which prevents trains from colliding with each other. Besides, its structure will also be anti-collision.
With the introduction of this train on the Patna-Delhi route, not only will the travel time be reduced, but the journey will also become more comfortable and safe than before.
