  1. Wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear red colored clothes.
  2. Take a pledge to fast ‘Nirjala’ (without water) throughout the day.
  3. In the evening, install the idol of Lord Ganesha on a wooden platform.
  4. They are blessed with yellow flowers, durva (grass) and most importantly ‘Tilkut’ Offer (prasad of sesame seeds and jaggery). Offering of sweet potato (Ganjee) is also considered very auspicious.
  5. Do listen to the fast story of Sakat Chauth. Without this the fast is considered incomplete.
  6. When the moon rises at night, mix water, some milk and sesame seeds in a pot and offer Arghya and then break the fast.

A small way to please Lord Ganesha
