Bahraich violence: The violence that broke out during the Durga idol effigy procession in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh is not stopping. On Monday, miscreants set fire to many houses including shops, hospitals and showrooms, after which the administration deployed a large number of police forces in the area. However, late night mischievous elements vandalized a religious place in Nakwa village and also tried to set it on fire. However, the police team reached the spot and controlled the situation.

On Monday night at around 10:00 pm, miscreants set fire to a village. The Sarpanch of Nakwa village said that 10 to 15 people had set the fire. After the fire was extinguished, heavy police force and PAC reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The miscreants ran away after seeing the police.

More than 50 policemen present at the incident site

Mahsi BDO Hemant Yadav said that some unruly elements have set the village on fire. Police reached the spot and controlled the situation. He told that more than 50 policemen are present at the incident site. Apart from this, an attempt was also made to demolish a religious place. Intruders have tried to break a grave. Villagers told that an attempt was made to demolish the shrine and set it on fire. However, the police brought the situation under control.

Uproar after death of youth in stone pelting and firing

There was a clash between two communities during the immersion of Durga idol at around 6 pm on Sunday evening. During this time, a young man named Ram Gopal Mishra died in stone pelting and firing and dozens of people were injured. As soon as this news spread, there was chaos in the entire area. Thousands of people took to the streets carrying sticks and vandalism and shouting slogans. The police took charge but the situation was out of control. The uproar continued till the afternoon of 14 October.

Meanwhile, miscreants set fire to a hospital. The X-ray machine inside was broken. Beds and mirrors were broken. A nearby medical store was also set on fire. The entire medical store was vandalized and destroyed. Not only this, the miscreants also burnt the bike showroom.

On the other hand, the family members of deceased Ram Gopal Mishra performed the last rites after talking to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The family of the deceased has taken this step only after getting assurance of justice from the CM. Earlier, people were protesting by keeping the dead body on the road. He demanded the administration to encounter the culprits and bulldoze their houses.
