To get information about the work being done for the eradication of untouchability and the programs and schemes being run for the welfare of the Scheduled Caste category, a Sadbhavna Camp for the eradication of untouchability was organized on December 7 in village Karetha of Dhamtari area.
As the chief guest of the program, BJP state spokesperson and former MLA Ranjana Dipendra Sahu said that untouchability is a practice of social exclusion based on the caste system, this practice was going on for a long time, which was removed from Article 17 of the Constitution. By doing this, a feeling of unity was brought in the country. Untouchability means avoiding or preventing all people of a person or group from directly touching their body, today all the societies are united and running with one vote and Baba Saheb is taking forward the dreams of Bhim Rao Ambedkar. But in some places even today there is a feeling of untouchability among the people, to remove it there is a need for everyone to fulfill their social responsibility, we can start this by developing a feeling of equality towards all the communities among the children at the school level. District member Jagendra Pinku Sahu said that the practice of untouchability has been going on for a very long time. The right to equality also plays an important role in eliminating untouchability. In the Sadbhavna Camp for the eradication of untouchability, the entire society including former MLA Ranjana Sahu gave the message of harmony by eating food together.
On this occasion, mainly Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Sanjay Bhosle, social worker Lata Avanendra Sahu, Danitola Ward Councilor Ajju Deshalhare, Booth President Dayaram Sinha, Pancharam Sinha, Sunita Dhruv, Deputy Sarpanch Ghanshyam Dhruv, Satnami Samaj President Lokesh Gaikwad, Shesh Kumar Dhruv Panch and others were present. And a large number of social friends of the area were present.
There is a provision for punishment for committing untouchability
On this occasion, Assistant Director Vimal Kumar Sahu, District Administration Tribal Department gave information about organizing Sadbhavna Camp for prevention of untouchability. Said that there is a provision in Article 17 of the Indian Constitution to abolish untouchability, this article prohibits and restricts the practice of untouchability, there is also a provision for punishment in it.
