Ranchi, 03 June (HS). The Excise Department has sealed the Extreme Sports Bar and Grill located in Chutia police station area of Ranchi. Its license has also been suspended. The Excise Department team took this action on Monday after the firing incident on May 27. Assistant Commissioner of Excise Arun Kumar Mishra said on Monday that the license of the bar has been suspended and sealed.
On the other hand, he said that all liquor shops in the district will remain closed on June 4 due to the counting of votes. The team will keep a close watch on all places.
It is noteworthy that on the late night of 26th May, in Chutia police station area, during eating and drinking, there was a fight between the bar bouncer and five people in Extreme Sports Bar and Grill. During this, the bar bouncer beat up five people. On receiving the information of the fight, the police station officials reached the bar. Before the police arrived, all the people except one person had left from there. The police took that one person to Chutia police station. After this, late at night at 01.18, the bar's DJ Sandeep alias Sandy was standing in front of the lift outside the bar, at that time an armed person came from the lift to the bar located on the second floor and shot DJ Sandy, who was standing in front of the lift waiting for a taxi, as soon as he came. After shooting, the accused came down the stairs. Then he fired a bullet on the glass of the bar from below. When the police patrol team reached after hearing the sound of the bullet, the accused fled from the spot. The police team took the DJ injured in the firing to RIMS for treatment where DJ Sandeep Pramanik alias Sandy died during treatment. Police took immediate action and arrested the main accused Abhishek Singh alias Vicky Singh from Alipur police station area of Gaya district in Bihar on Monday in the case of shooting and killing DJ Sandeep in the bar. Police arrested 14 people in the case and sent them to jail on 28 May. Along with this, three FIRs were registered in connection with the case. So far, the police have sent 20 accused to jail in the case.
