Meerut, March 13 (HS). The film 'Bastar The Naxal Story' based on Maoism and Naxalite violence by the producer and director of The Kerala Story is being released in theaters on March 15. A special screening of the film was organized by Meerut Film Committee on Wednesday. After watching the film, people from different sections of the society said that Naxalism has ruined the country for a long time. The poor governments and systems of that time played a role in the growth of Naxalism.
The film Bastar The Naxal Story is based on a true incident of Naxalites attacking a CRPF camp in Bastar, Chhattisgarh in 2010 and killing 76 soldiers. A special premiere of the film was shown on Wednesday at INOX Multiplex of PVS Mall, in which people from different sections of the society, journalists, internet media influencers, teachers, students, doctors, advocates etc. were specially invited. This film is raising questions on the intentions of the previous governments rather than their failures. This film will shock your conscience. Film director Sudipto Sen and co-director Amritlal Shah have tried to show the real essence of Naxal-affected areas to the public in a story of two hours and 4 minutes.
The title of the film is 'Bastar', the district which has been the most Naxal affected in history. Till one and a half decade ago, this area used to be the capital of Naxalite 'Mao'. Right from the beginning, the film introduces us to the hypocritical and weak system of the country, which instead of boosting the morale of the officers who courageously claim to do right, works to put shackles on their feet.
For the first time, a film was premiered in Meerut, courtesy of Meerut Film Society and Vishwa Samvad Kendra. Shilpa Shukla has a strong role in the film in the role of IPS officer Neerja Madhavan, who is responsible for the end of Naxal. Actress Indra Tiwari has played the character of 'Ratna', a woman who is a Naxal victim. She did not look different from her character even for a moment. Seeing your husband breaking into pieces in front of you and then collecting those pieces, tying them in a bundle and bringing them to your home. Indra Tiwari becomes a pain in the heart of the audience with her acting.
Well-known co-actor Yashpal Sharma has played a powerful role of a lawyer. The song Vande Mataram included in the film after the intermission is a kind of tribute to the martyrs who have lost their lives in such attacks. This timeless film leaves a big question that if the previous governments of the country had adopted a zero tolerance policy against Naxal terrorism, perhaps the country would have been freed from this leprosy long ago. This film is releasing on 15 March.
In the premiere, RSS state publicity chief Surendra Singh, Tapan Kumar, Dhananjay Kumar, Kapil Tyagi, Prof. Prashant Kumar, Kuldeep Kushwaha, Dr. MK Srivastava, Sharad Vyas, Pankaj Raj Sharma, Rakesh Tyagi, Anuj Sharma, Krishna Kumar, Sanjeev Garg, Lokesh Tandon etc. were present.
