Apple has now included in its iPhones RCS (Rich Communication Services) Has started giving support. If you understand in simple language, it is a ‘super upgraded’ version of SMS (Simple Message).

Till now, what used to happen was that messages were sent from iPhone to iPhone over the internet, but as soon as they were sent to Android, they became old-fashioned SMS/MMS. Due to this reason the quality of photos and videos gets spoiled. But with the advent of RCS, high-quality file sharing has now become possible between iPhone and Android as well.

What benefits will you get?

1. High-resolution photo-video: Now you can send 4K videos or clear photos to your Android friends, and they’ll look exactly like they do on your phone.
2. Typing Indicator: Now you will see whether the other person (be it an Android user) is typing or not. Those three dots (…) will now be visible.
3. Read Receipts: Like WhatsApp, now you will know whether your message has been read or not.
4. Wi-Fi messaging: Even if there is no network, if there is Wi-Fi, the message will be sent. There will be no need for SMS pack.
5. Group Chat: It’s now easier to add or remove someone from a group chat, no matter what phone they have.

But the ‘color’ still won’t change
Yes, one small thing will still remain the same. iPhone messages still on iPhone ‘Blue’ Android messages will remain ‘Green’ Will remain the same. Apple has not changed the color, but has modernized the features inside the green bubble.

How to turn it on?
For this, you will have to update your iPhone to the latest iOS version (like iOS 18 or later updates). Then Settings > Apps > Messages going in ‘RCS Messaging’ Turn on the option. (Note, this feature also depends on your SIM operator).
