The Deputy Chief Minister gave strict instructions to the Village Development Officers for transparent allocation by compiling a district wise list of Chief Minister Housing Scheme.


Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister, said that till now about 5 lakh families have got the opportunity of security, respect and a better life through the Chief Minister Awas Yojana. He said that last year an action plan for about 1.16 lakh new pucca houses has been prepared under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana-Rural. He directed the officials to achieve the set target in a time bound manner and extend the benefits of the scheme to the genuinely needy families. District wise list of eligible beneficiaries should be compiled in all the districts and the benefits of the scheme should be given on the basis of eligibility with complete transparency and fairness. He said that any kind of negligence, irregularity or favoritism will not be accepted in the selection of beneficiaries.

He asked the officials to go from village to village to identify the truly eligible families and especially to assess the situation of widows, disabled, disaster and serious disease affected and socially deprived families with sensitivity. A pucca house is not just a building, but it is the basis of security, respect and self-reliance for a poor family. He directed the officers to pay special attention to the quality, timeliness and transparency of housing construction and to ensure immediate solution to problems arising at any level, so that the benefits of government schemes can reach the eligible people standing at the last rung of the society.
