Why do stampedes occur during religious events?

Experts say that there can be two main reasons for a stampede in any event. Firstly, there was a huge crowd and secondly, there was no proper exit system at the venue. 1. Bone injury

During this, the weight of the fallen person falls on the neck or chest. This can break the neck bone and lead to death. This is the reason why so many deaths occur during a stampede.

2. Compression asphyxia

According to health experts, apart from breaking the neck bone, compressive asphyxia can also cause death. This is a condition in which breathing becomes impossible due to pressure on the body, suffocation occurs and the person falling dies. According to experts, during a stampede, the feet are placed on the chest. This causes the diaphragm near the lungs to contract i.e. it becomes stiff, when it becomes flat it cannot function properly and oxygen cannot reach the brain after reaching the body. Due to which the brain becomes dead and death occurs.
