The name of the young man is Imtiaz Shaikh, who was trying to cross the India-Pakistan border near Khavra area of Kutch. Who are natives of Jammu and Kashmir.
Imtiaz Sheikh was trying to cross the border into Pakistan to meet his alleged girlfriend living in Pakistan's Punjab province.
Notably, Imtiaz Shaikh was released as the police and security agencies did not find anything suspicious about him. According to the information, this young man is mentally unstable.
West Kutch Superintendent of Police Sagar Bagmar said about the incident that Imtiaz Shaikh had reached Khawra with the intention of crossing the border to Pakistan to meet a woman he met online.
Imtiaz Shaikh believed that he could easily enter Pakistan from there. He was arrested after reaching Khavra on Tuesday.
After investigating Imtiaz Shaikh's family and local police in Jammu and Kashmir, officials found that he poses no threat to the country's security. Due to which he was released in the evening.
According to a police officer, Sheikh was attracted to a Pakistani social media influencer from Multan. After which he decided that Imtiaz Shaikh would go to Pakistan to meet him.
In particular, Imtiaz Shaikh sought the villagers' help in obtaining permission from the authorities for legal entry into Pakistan.
