Ranchi, 27 September (HS). The hearing of the contempt petition filed by Anil Kumar and others on behalf of DRDA employees for regularizing them like Jharkhand government employees was held in the Jharkhand High Court on Friday. In this case, the Secretary of the Rural Development Department appeared physically in the court.

The court directed him to file a reply and asked him to state that what the applicant said was wrong. The applicant has said that he has not gone to the Supreme Court regarding this matter. The court orally said that if the applicant or the respondent or the state government gives wrong information to the court, then a strict order will be passed against them. No attempt should be made to mislead the court.

In fact, the employees posted in DRDA had requested to make their services permanent like the employees of Jharkhand Government. It was said on his part that he was being appointed on contract in coordination with another department whereas he was appointed as a permanent employee in DRDA. A petition has been filed on behalf of Anil Kumar and others regarding the matter. It has been said on their behalf that their contract based service should be regularized. During the hearing, the court was told on behalf of the applicant that he had not gone to the Supreme Court. The High Court had given decision in his favor. Some employees of DRDA had gone to the Supreme Court regarding the permanent pay scale. There the court has approved the order passed in his case.
