Along with this, the court sentenced 25-year-old accused Mohammad Aleem to life imprisonment in the case of illegal conversion and rape, and also sentenced Aleem's father, who was involved in the crime, to two years in jail.

Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar of the Fast Track Court of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh gave this decision. While giving the decision, he said that Hindu girls are being trapped in the trap of love and are being subjected to illegal religious conversion and a situation like Pakistan and Bangladesh is being created in the country. Are. India also. Illegal conversion is a big threat to the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country. Aleem came in contact with a 20-year-old student. The allegation was that Aleem hid his identity and also changed his name to Anand.

Later, the girl was lured into a love trap and converted illegally, during which he had physical relations with the girl, due to which she became pregnant and had an abortion. The girl has made all these allegations in the complaint lodged before the police. While sentencing Aleem to life imprisonment, the court said that religious conversion is being done by giving psychological pressure and foreign funding is also being received for religious conversion. If this problem is not resolved in time, it can have serious consequences.

The judge said that the Constitution of India allows all people to practice their religion as per their wish. However, this personal freedom cannot be compromised through illegal conversion or love jihad. There is a need to stop conversion by giving allurements like marriage or job. The court also asked to send a copy of its order to the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh and the Police Chief.

835 cases of illegal conversion in UP, 1682 arrested

Lucknow: In the last four years, 835 cases of illegal conversion have been reported in Uttar Pradesh, the country's most populous state. In which a total of 1682 people have been arrested. This action has been taken under the Uttar Pradesh Illegal Conversion Prevention Act.

In 2020, the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh introduced the Anti-Illegal Conversion Act. Since its implementation, 835 cases have been registered under this law in the state while more than 1600 arrests have been made, these figures are from the date of implementation of the law till July 31 this year.

Out of these 835 cases, the police has filed charge sheet in 818 cases i.e. charge sheet has been filed in 98 percent of the cases. Whereas only 17 cases are under investigation. Out of all the people who were made accused in these cases, 124 people have been released due to lack of involvement. In total 2708 people were made accused in 835 cases. Out of which 70 percent people surrendered in the court.
