The company where I worked for 68 years fired me with 2 days' notice

A woman working in a company for the last 68 years has been fired from the company after giving just 2 days' notice. This woman worked for a shoe brand. She has been working at the same place for almost seven decades. This woman says that I have spent my entire life for this company. But the result is not quite right. A woman named Jill Cornick worked in a women's shoe store. Which is very famous in Britain. She was just 14 years old when she started working for the store in 1956.

A large number of customers came to bid farewell on the last day

After this she continued coming here every day for 68 years. So much so that he even canceled his honeymoon in 1969 to attend an on-the-job training course. When the son was born in 1975, he was also brought up in the shop. But this week something happened to Jill that she had never even thought about. According to a report, the store closed it immediately. On the last day, a large number of customers came to the shop to bid farewell. Local people gave Jill flowers and chocolates for serving people for so many years. 'We were told last Thursday that the store was closing on Monday, which shocked everyone,' says Jill.

Now I don't have to travel for work: Jill

Elaborating, Jill says, 'I have been working in the shop since its beginning in 1956. I was feeling good about myself, and was hoping to keep doing this job for a few more years before retiring. This is really a matter of shame. Monday will be a memorable day. Lots of flowers and chocolates were brought for me. I have helped clients over the years and some have literally cried. In some cases I have helped four generations of the same family get their shoe size measured. I think now I will relax and go to the beach more. Now I don't need to travel for work. I will do charity work or something.

Jill's husband David died in 2016

Jill's husband of 82 years, David, died in 2016. He took sick leave infrequently over the years. She was on leave for three months during the Corona virus lockdown in 2020. A Clarks spokesperson said: 'We sincerely thank the Blandford Forum Store team for their contribution and commitment to providing excellent customer service to all members. Especially to Jill whose 68 years of service and dedication to our customers is greatly valued by everyone at Clark. We wish Jill all the best.
