Jagdalpur, June 7 (HS). Collector Vijay Dayaram inspected the Material Recycle Facility Center located in Burudwada Semra on Friday. The collector directed the officials of the organization regarding the sorting and management of the waste reaching the center daily for recycling. He directed to complete the installation of the plastic granule making machine at the Siri Center near the center soon. He took stock of the electrical system required for running the machine and gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials. On this occasion, the in-charge of the MRF Center and officials of the E&M Department were present.
It is known that Samriddhi-Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Siri-MRC (Material Recycling Centre) located at Semra have been established under the Dry and Plastic Waste Free Rural and Urban Landscapes Project. All collected dry waste and plastic is received for MRF from city municipal corporations (CMCs), waste pickers and other stakeholders. MRF segregates all types of dry waste, including plastics which is being promoted to promote value addition in the waste supply chain. PET, PE, HDPE, LDPE, PVC, PS, and PP waste is mechanically collected, shredded and supplied to recyclers (to produce pallets or other materials/products), cement kilns (co-processing), which are used in fuel, road construction, etc.
The project aims to create a sustainable waste management system that promotes recycling and reduces the amount of dry and plastic waste in both rural and urban areas. The MRF/MRC will serve as a central hub for sorting, processing and recycling various types of waste materials, ensuring proper disposal and minimising environmental impact.
