Dehradun, 02 August (HS). The Chief Minister is continuously monitoring the relief and rescue operations in the disaster affected areas of the state. The Chief Minister took information about the disaster situation and relief and rescue operations in the state from the Home Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) at the Secretariat on Friday. During this, the Chief Minister has instructed all the officers to remain in alert mode at all times.
On Friday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar and Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey to the Secretariat and took updated information from them about the disaster situation in the state and relief and rescue operations. During this, the Chief Minister asked to ensure movement through the Kedarnath pedestrian route along with making arrangements for the safe return of the passengers stranded in Kedarnath.
The Chief Minister instructed to take minimum time to restore the roads in case they get blocked due to heavy rains. He asked to restore the traffic as soon as possible by building a Bailey bridge in case the bridge breaks down. He also said that it should be ensured that people get uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity.
The Chief Minister has directed all the concerned officers, including the District Magistrates, to remain on alert mode at all times in view of the disaster.
Travellers should be stopped at safe places: The Chief Minister has also given instructions to make all arrangements for the convenience of pilgrims on the Chardham Yatra routes. If the routes are obstructed due to heavy rainfall or there appears to be any danger ahead, then the travellers should be stopped at safe places.
