Jagdalpur, 14 October (Hindustan Reporter). While addressing the press conference on Monday at Rajiv Bhawan of Bastar division headquarters, Chhattisgarh State Congress President Deepak Baij said that today the law and order situation of Chhattisgarh state is deteriorating day by day, the BJP government is sitting mute. Now the incidents of murder have become unbearable. He said that the government has become inefficient and helpless, the Chief Minister is not able to control the government, the Home Department is being taken over by the Home Minister, the people in the state have become so helpless that they are intent on holding the criminals to account themselves. This is what happened in Loharidih and Ambikapur, the criminals in the state have become so unbridled that even the policemen are no longer safe from them, Surajpur is a living example of today.

Deepak Baij said that a police constable's wife and his daughter were brutally murdered in Surajpur. The criminal works as a scrap dealer, the police raided his place and the criminal went straight to the policeman's house and killed his wife and daughter. He said that the Chief Minister of the state should dismiss Home Minister Vijay Sharma. The police are not able to stop crime, on the contrary they are torturing innocent people. In Arjunda, an innocent youth was beaten so badly that his father died after seeing his condition. In Loharidih of Kawardha, three people died due to police negligence, one was murdered in protest against it, the other was murdered by burning his house, the third, Prashant Sahu, was murdered in police custody. Whereas in Loharidih, to cover up its failure, the police registered a case against 167 people under serious sections.

Today, daughters and women of any age are not feeling safe in this state. Recently, an incident of gang rape of a minor girl returning home from the market takes place in Sitapur. A 50 year old woman is gang-raped at Raipur Naya Bus Stand, a report is written the next day and the gang rape is denied. Given, rape reports were filed and here the police is busy protecting the criminals instead of punishing them, women are scared of the incidents of rape in Bastar, Jashpur, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Ambikapur and the capital Raipur. Women are feeling unsafe in going out of the house, this happened with a 4 year old innocent girl in Bhilai on 5th July. Will this government investigate the matter only every time there is a movement to get justice for the women of the state? Or will take action. A tribal woman was raped by 14 people in Pusaur, Raigarh. The police were hesitant in filing the report and the report was written after pressure from the media. A minor girl from Jashpur was gang-raped. Rape of a minor in Kondagaon, sexual exploitation of girl students in a government school in Narayanpur, rape of a 2 year old girl in Rajim, rape of a minor and a 5 year old girl in Bhilai, rape of a deaf and mute woman in Raigarh. . Incidents of rape are continuously happening in Jashpur, Keshkal, Pakhanjur Fort, Rajdhani Raipur and Raigarh, Sakti, Ambikapur.

Baij said that those giving hollow slogans of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao are saving the criminals. When the victimized women muster up courage and go to the police station to file an FIR, then instead of filing the report, they are humiliated. Due to which the women victims even commit suicide, the increasing incidence of rape in the state has become a matter of concern for the state. Today, women working in the fields, women traveling in buses, women living at home, women in hospitals, daughters going to schools and colleges, women are not safe anywhere. The police and administration are busy protecting the accused and the victim woman has to run from pillar to post to get justice. It is a matter of great shame that the BJP, who reacted to the incident in Bengal, is silent on the brutality against a four-year old innocent girl in Chhattisgarh.
