Lucknow, July 20 (HS). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on Guru Purnima.
In a congratulatory message issued here on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that Guru Purnima is a festival of Guru-worship. In Sanatan culture, there is a long tradition of Guru-disciple for acquiring knowledge. It is not possible to acquire knowledge without a Guru. All siddhis can be achieved with the blessings of the Guru. According to the scriptures, Maharishi Ved Vyas was born on this Purnima date, hence Vyas Purnima is also called Guru Purnima.
Chief Minister Yogi said that in our culture, Guru has been given the highest place. Guru has been described as equal to Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh. Guru creates the disciple, therefore he is Brahma. Guru protects the disciple, therefore he is Vishnu. Guru destroys all the faults of the disciple, therefore he is Maheshwar himself. We should worship the Guru with full faith and devotion and take his blessings.
The Chief Minister said that this festival is ideal for introducing the future generation to the importance of Guru in life. This festival of Guru-Poojan inspires us to pay respect and gratitude to those great men who have led us on the right path and who have shown a new path to the society, nation and the world with their knowledge, sacrifice and penance.
